A simple and free way to calculate your age

TickmarkTools' Age Calculator makes it easy to find your exact age from your date of birth. Instead of manually counting years, months and days on a calendar, enter your date of birth once and the calculator handles the arithmetic for you.

The result isn't limited to a single number. Alongside your age in years, months and days, the calculator shows your age broken down into total months, total weeks, total days and total hours — plus the exact date of your next birthday and how many days remain until it. You can use it to check your current age, plan around an upcoming birthday, or work out how old you were, or will be, on any other date.

How is age calculated?

Your age is found by comparing your date of birth with the date you want to calculate against — usually today. The calculator first counts the number of complete years between the two dates, then works out the remaining months, and finally the remaining days once those full months are accounted for.

This calendar-based approach matters because months don't all have the same number of days, and leap years add an extra day roughly every four years. A simple "days ÷ 365" estimate can drift off by a day or more over a long enough span. TickmarkTools instead walks the actual calendar dates, so the year/month/day breakdown lines up with a calendar the way a person counting by hand would get it — including for people born on February 29.

Answers

What is an Age Calculator?

An age calculator works out the exact time that has passed between a date of birth and another date — usually today — expressed in years, months, days, and other useful units such as total weeks or hours.

How does the Age Calculator work?

It takes your date of birth and a target date, then counts complete years, months and remaining days between the two using calendar-based logic rather than a fixed 365-day estimate.

How accurate is this calculator?

The year/month/day breakdown is calculated using exact calendar arithmetic, correctly accounting for varying month lengths and leap years — it is not an approximation.

Can I calculate my age on a specific date?

Yes. Switch to "Age on a date" and enter any target date to see how old you were, or will be, on that day.

How does the calculator handle leap years and February 29 birthdays?

Leap years are handled automatically through standard calendar arithmetic. If you were born on February 29, your age still advances correctly each year, using the nearest valid calendar date where relevant.

How old am I?

Enter your date of birth above and select "Age as of today" — the calculator instantly shows your exact age in years, months and days based on today's date.

How many days, weeks or months old am I?

Once you calculate your age, the stat grid below the result shows your total months, total weeks, total days and total hours lived — the same span of time expressed in different units.

Frequently asked questions

Does this tool store or upload my date of birth?

No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser. Your date of birth is never sent to TickmarkTools' servers or stored anywhere.

Why do total days and total months look different from my age in years?

Your age in years, months and days is a calendar breakdown, while total days, weeks, months and hours are the full count of that unit across your entire lifespan — both describe the same span of time in different ways.

What happens if I enter a future date of birth?

The calculator shows an error, since a date of birth in the future can't produce a valid age.

Can I find out how many days are left until my next birthday?

Yes. Every result includes your next birthday date and the exact number of days remaining until it.

Can I calculate my age on a future date?

Yes. Switch to "Age on a date" and choose any future date to see how old you'll be on that day.

Is the Age Calculator free to use?

Yes. TickmarkTools' Age Calculator is free to use, with no limit on how many times you can calculate.

Do I need to sign up or create an account?

No. You can use the calculator immediately without creating an account or providing any personal details.

Does the calculator work on mobile devices?
